November at Deep Portage

Those cold November winds have begun to frequent the Deep Portage woods, so we've kept the fireplaces crackling and made ready our winter gear. The teaching staff took advantage of a break in the schedule to clean and perform regular maintenance on the climbing wall (see photo below). This past week we hosted another fantastic group from Red Lake.....always a highlight of the fall season. Pictured below are a few group shots from their visit. The blaze-orange jerseys are always worn by students that visit Deep Portage during deer season. Happy Holidays to everyone! We hope to see you on the trails!

Hi there,

I couldn't access you via email for some reason....so
I am currently researching a professional development opportunity to your part of the world and am contacting EEC's to build my case to my employer for going.

I am interested in looking at how other EEC's are educating school aged children about issues relating to climate change. My plan is to come and view such programs and initiatives in action, to better enable my Centre and my colleagues in Australia to empower those we teach.

Topics could include, climate change and personal well being, individuals dealing with climate change, actions that people can take, incorporation of Aboriginal /native peoples wisdom and relationship with the land, relationships with the land, education for Sustainability, renewable energy....the list is not exhaustive, but I'm interested to see and experience what you are doing to strengthen our childrens chances for the future.
